Competing Energies: The Call to Serve vs. Real-World Responsibilities

The world around us is shifting. If you're anything like me, you might find yourself torn between the energetic pull of creating something world-changing and the very real need to pay the bills, keep your business running, and stay grounded in the here-and-now.
This week, I’ve been feeling the weight of it all. The pressure to serve at a higher level while managing the practicalities of life and business. The truth is, there have been moments when I’ve wanted to pull back, hit pause, and just rest. But I've come to understand that these moments of reflection are necessary. When we create space to just be, we build the foundation to show up even more powerfully when it's time to act.
Recently, I’ve felt the pull to write a book this summer—a project that will demand immense time, energy, and creativity, with no immediate rewards. But I know this is the next step for me. I’m doing it anyway, choosing to live off savings and trust that the process will unfold as it should.
In this season, I feel more than ever the need to go inward. To expand my spiritual self and connect deeply with my purpose, rather than just pushing for more external achievements. It’s a delicate balance, and one I’m sure many of you are familiar with in your own journey.
I’ve often felt the push and pull between the energy of wanting to expand my mission and the need to maintain the day-to-day realities of running a business. It’s a common struggle for so many of us: the call to serve, to create something greater, versus the pressure to promote, market, and ensure the financial sustainability of the business that supports our mission.
The Soul Professional Movement is a dream I’ve been nurturing for years, and I feel its power growing with every step I take toward its expansion. But like any dream, it requires careful planning, resources, and—let’s be honest—money. As much as I want to serve, to grow the Soul Professional Movement, and to step fully into my calling, I also have to face the practicalities of paying bills, maintaining infrastructure, and planning for long-term sustainability.
There are moments—many of them, actually—when the pressure of it all feels almost overwhelming. The vision I hold for the Movement is big, bold, and filled with possibilities. Yet, it requires significant energy, especially when it comes to balancing my passion for the work with the logistics of making it happen. The pressure to balance these two energies can be all-consuming. Some days, I feel like I’m not doing enough to serve. Other days, I feel like I’m drowning in the logistics of business management.
In times like this, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. To feel like we’re not doing enough, or that we’re doing too much. But here’s what I’ve come to believe: everything is always working out for me, not to me. This mantra has been my anchor. It’s the reminder I give myself every day that things are unfolding as they should, even when I can’t always see the full picture.
I’ve come to truly believe in divine timing. Things may not unfold on my timeline, but when I step back and trust the process, I see how everything is working together for my highest good. It’s not always easy to trust, but I’ve learned that the most powerful things happen when I surrender to the timing of life.
A perfect example of this has been my podcast journey this year. Back in December, I made a decision to close my podcast after nine seasons and to guest on others' podcasts once a week for the entire year. I declared it, and I started putting the feelers out, letting people know what I wanted. Almost immediately, the universe responded. Introductions, invitations, and opportunities started flowing in. I call this my “Decide, Declare, Do” method: I decide what I want, declare it to the world, and then take inspired action. And it works. I’m now doing multiple interviews a week on impressive shows, and the connections are more than I could have ever imagined.
But it wasn’t about pushing harder or doing more. It was about making a decision, stepping back to let things unfold, and allowing the right people to come into my path.
There’s a moment I’ve learned to embrace—the moment when I don’t know what to do next. I used to feel panicked, thinking I had to always know the next step, but now, I’ve learned to pause and create space for what’s possible.
Right now, I’m in a pause phase. I’m feeling into whether it’s time to write my next book or whether I need to continue focusing on the expansion of the Soul Professional Movement. One thing I know for sure: I don’t need to have all the answers right now. The next move will come when it’s ready, and I trust the process.
This is a significant shift for me—learning that rest and reflection are not something to be avoided or something that takes me away from my work. They are part of my business plan. This idea of balancing work with rest, creating from a place of alignment rather than exhaustion, is key to building a sustainable business that’s rooted in purpose.
Here’s the thing: when you create from a high vibration, you will attract a high vibration. This truth has played out in my life time and time again. It’s easy to fall into the trap of creating from fear or lack, but when we lead with love, authenticity, and trust in our purpose, we call in the right opportunities, the right people, and the right clients.
If you’re feeling the tension, if you’re wondering if it’s okay to rest, to not always show up with the perfect content or the perfect offer—the answer is yes. It’s okay to give yourself grace. In fact, it’s necessary.
The Soul Professional Movement was born out of my highest vibration. When I launched it in 2020, I did it on my own, feeling like I needed to push it into the world by myself. I created resistance in the process because, deep down, I believed it was needed and that it had to happen a certain way.
This time, the Movement is different. It’s collaborative. I’ve learned that it’s not about forcing an outcome or attaching myself to a specific result. I’m letting go of the attachment to how the Movement will unfold. If the world is ready for it, it will erupt. If not, that’s okay too. What matters is that I’ve created something that feels aligned with my purpose, and I trust that the right people will find it.
This time, I’m bringing on a team of global leaders to help champion this movement. I reached out for help because I knew the Movement couldn’t expand by me pushing it alone. I’m not attached to the outcome, but I trust that the right individuals will rise to this collaborative effort and bring this mission to life in a way that I could not have done alone. Together, we are creating something larger than what any one of us could do on our own.
I’ve been going deeper into my own spirit during this time. Embracing self-love, leaning into my intuition, and trusting that everything is always working out—even when I can’t see how. When we do this, we come back to our authentic selves, and that is the most powerful place to create from.
I encourage you to take time for yourself, to connect with your inner wisdom, and to trust that, like me, you are on the path to creating something truly impactful. You’re not alone in your journey. This summer, I’m feeling a deeper calling to connect with my feminine energy and allow myself to receive in ways I never have before.
This is new for me, and honestly, it feels a bit strange. I’ve always been someone who gives and pushes, but now I’m learning to receive—whether it’s from the universe, my team, or my community. It’s a new way of being that I’ll be exploring this summer, and I’m excited to share this journey with you.
If this resonates with you, if you’re feeling the pull to rest, to create from a higher vibration, and to go deeper into your spirit, I want to remind you that everything is working out.
