Permission to Pivot: Finding Peace, Purpose, and Stability in Uncertain Times

Updated: Jul 21

There’s something in the air right now. You can feel it, can’t you?

That pause. That heaviness. That quiet echo in your business where there used to be consistent momentum.

The energy has shifted. What used to work isn't working the same way anymore, and that’s not a reflection of your worth, skill, or calling. It’s simply the reality of a larger economic transition we’re all being asked to navigate with courage, creativity, and grace.

It’s easy to internalize the slowdown. When the inquiries slow, the sales don’t come, or your community isn’t engaging like before, you might start questioning yourself. “Is it me? Am I doing something wrong?” But the truth is, we’re facing systemic changes.

You’re not imagining it. Things are harder. People are more cautious. And you are not failing because of that.

I’ve had more honest conversations with clients in the past few weeks than I’ve had in a long time. Not about scaling or launching or building funnels. About staying grounded. About staying sane. About staying true to who we are… while also figuring out how to keep the lights on.

So let me start with this:

You are not broken.

Your calling hasn’t expired.

You are not failing.

You are simply living in a new world and adjusting with grace.

This isn’t about you doing something wrong. It’s not that your pricing is off or your offers are poorly crafted. There’s simply a collective shift—a constriction. A pause. A breath before the next evolution.

And maybe, just maybe, that’s an invitation.

Let me say this with love and certainty: It is okay to seek stability outside your business. Choosing financial stability in uncertain times isn’t quitting. It’s honoring your nervous system. It’s protecting your creativity. It’s refusing to operate in survival mode.

I’ve given this advice to more than a few clients lately: If picking up a side gig, part-time job, or volunteer role brings you peace, do it. If it gives you structure, connection, or even joy—lean into that.

In fact, the side gigs and bridge jobs I see are full of life and purpose. One client pours beer at a brewery not because she needs to, but because he’s fascinated by the business model. Another works one day a week at a local pet rescue for joy and community. One retired client works a cashier shift at his local liquor store just to stay connected.

These little shifts? They’re acts of power. Of alignment. Of sanity. They are not steps backward. They are stabilizers in a season of swirling energy.

Reinvention Isn’t Always Glamorous—But It’s Always Powerful

Reinvention gets romanticized: a glossy "before and after" story. But the in-between—the gray, slow, quiet space—is the real work. It’s where we meet ourselves.

This is your permission slip: You don’t have to always be in growth mode. You’re allowed to stabilize. You’re allowed to take a breath. You’re allowed to redefine what success looks like right now.

Reinvention is not always expansion. Sometimes, it's rest. Sometimes, it's an experiment. Sometimes, it’s just staying afloat with integrity. I've always believed that alignment precedes abundance. And sometimes the most aligned next step is not a business move—but a life one.

You Are Not Defined by What You Do Right Now

If you take a job, pick up a gig, or say yes to something temporary—it doesn’t mean you’re abandoning your dream.

It means you’re choosing to honor yourself and your needs. It means you’re listening. It means you’re growing.

So let’s stop shaming the bridge jobs, the side gigs, the volunteering, the “not quite what I planned” choices. These are tools of the wise. Anchors for the creative. Places where spirit speaks softly while the world feels loud.

You are not defined by your latest Instagram post, your launch numbers, or your revenue report. You are defined by how you show up—in integrity, with heart, in tune with your own truth.

Sometimes, the most courageous act is admitting that you need to shift for now so that you can rise again later.

Your Purpose Hasn’t Gone Anywhere

In case no one’s said this to you lately:

Your purpose is still here.Your wisdom still matters.Your work is still valuable.Your dream is still valid.

Even in the pause.Even in the pivot.Even when you’re volunteering, or side-gigging, or rethinking everything.

Your soul doesn’t disappear just because your strategy needs tweaking. This isn’t a detour. It’s part of the map.

So trust it. Let this season teach you. Let it soften you. Let it remind you that there is no single path, only the one that’s true for you.

A New Kind of Success

Maybe success isn’t always six figures and scaling. Maybe success right now is waking up with peace in your chest. Creating with joy. Feeling proud of the way you show up for yourself and your family.

Maybe it’s a few hours in nature. A shift at the local shop. A class for fun. A chance to breathe again.

Maybe your legacy isn’t about how fast you built something—but how gently you navigated the storms.

And maybe… this pause is a setup for your most powerful evolution yet.

I want to end this with a reminder I often whisper to myself when the doubt creeps in:

You are not behind. You are becoming.

There’s a rhythm to this work—a divine timing that can’t be forced. Some seasons are for launching. Some are for planting. Some are for resting. Some are for surviving.

But they all matter.

So if you’re feeling a shift, or if things are quiet, or if you’re considering something new to hold you over—know that I see you. And I honor you.

You are doing sacred work just by staying connected to yourself.

Keep listening. Keep trusting. Keep creating in whatever way you can.

I Created a Free Soul Circle

If you're craving connection during these uncertain times, I’m opening up a new Soul Circle—a free, heart-centered gathering held on the first Monday of every month.  It’s not a webinar. It’s not a pitch. It’s a soft space to reflect, reset, and reconnect—with your soul, your business, your purpose, and a circle of others walking this path too.

We pull a few soul cards. We share. We support. Because this is what being a soul professional is about—leading from truth, building in alignment, and supporting one another through every season.

You're invited to join us. No expectations. No performance. Just presence.

You’re not alone in this.
